When a Torah scroll is damaged, it falls silent. Matzichim meticulously restores these historic Sifrei Torahs to kosher perfection and place them back into the arms of the Jewish people — dedicated in memory of our fallen heroes.

The Rescue
We source Sifrei Torah from communities worldwide — scrolls that have survived historical hardships but are currently pasul (invalidated due to fading, tearing, or decay). Each scroll carries centuries of Jewish prayer, tears, and triumph within its parchment.
Halachic Analysis
Led by Yehuda Lanzkron, our certified Sofrim (scribes) examine every letter, crown (tagin), and seam under high magnification to map out the exact path to restoration. This meticulous process ensures every scroll is restored to the highest halachic standard.
The Restoration
Using authentic, traditional materials — including parchment scrapers, natural reeds, and deeply black kosher ink — our scribes spend hundreds of hours correcting errors, repairing tears, and sharpening faded text. Every stroke of the quill is a prayer.
Dedication
Once certified 100% kosher, the scroll is brought to its new home: a community or synagogue chosen alongside a bereaved IDF family, ensuring their loved one's memory sounds through the words of the Torah every single week.
Individuals and Shuls alike can play a part in this sacred mission. If you or your community have a pasul Sefer Torah — one that has fallen silent due to damage or age — reach out to us. We will lovingly restore it and dedicate it in memory of a fallen IDF hero. Fill out the form below and our team will be in touch to discuss the next steps.
